Potami is a small village near Nicosia with a population of approximately 558 people. Legend says that the village was created by a king who was buried in the village in a golden carriage. The name of the village probably comes from the two rivers which the village is built between.

The village of Korakou lies in the beautiful Solea Valley region, to the north of the ancient mine of Skouriotissa.
The village is believed to have taken its name either from an ancient king of the region, or its first inhabitant. The area is also well known for its cultivation of aromatic, local herbs and the distillation of their essential oils.
In a unique prestige location in the footprints of Troodos mountains and a short distance from the sea right opposite the only cooper mine in Cyprus lies the first and only theme park / museum about perfumery!
In this unique environment in an ancient style using only natural local raw materials special rooms were constructed where the visitor can see all the process of distillation, and its development over the years.
Built in the north side of the Troodos mountain range, on the banks of the Karkotis and Garillis rivers, is the highest village of the 'Solea region'.
the cobblestone narrow streets, the stone build houses with the wooden balconies and tiled roofs, testify that the entire village is a unique sample of authentic folk achitecture.
The formation of Cyprus is directly linked to the creation of the Troodos mountain range, as a result of a series of unique and complex geological processes which have made Cyprus a geological model for researchers from around the world, contributing to a better understanding of the development of the oceans and of the planet in general.
The Troodos Geopark (an area of 1.147 km2) Visitor Centre is located in the old Asbestos mine (Amiantos mine), an area with enormous historical value which now hosts an extraordinary botanical garden with information about the flora of the area, a seed bank of endemic species and also a plethora of evidence for the past mining activity and the community which once flourished there.
The Geopark Visitor Centre is situated in the newly restored elementary school of the abandoned asbestos mine. The building is an impressive listed structure and an example of fine architecture with historic characteristics and features such as its fireplaces, one in every room, and a beautiful internal yard.
